Tale of the Velvet Monkey...
Founded by Estrella Evans in 2001, the Velvet Monkey Salon was a simple operation... just a few chairs, some vintage fashion, and a lot of style.
Pretty soon there wasn't enough room to give everyone the Monkey Treatment, so Estrella opened her second location: Velvet Monkey Too on N.W. 63rd, and
soon attracted a clientele that expected edgy, artistic energy and setting.
The spirit of growth in Oklahoma City enticed Estrella to open a third location, Velvet Monkey Downtown, where busy professionals soon learned there is
always time to rock. With the success of Velvet Monkey Too and Velvet Monkey Downtown, it seemed natural to move the original Velvet Monkey out of its small location
and into the historic Plaza District, where a much larger space allowed plenty of room to continue growing, just like hair. The Vintage Boutique housed at the Velvet Monkey Salon
will surprise even the most jaded fashion hound.
The Velvet Monkey Salons are dedicated to giving you the best beauty experience available, and well... we appreciate you

Walk-ins for cuts and some services are welcome at all locations, but if you want a certain stylist or have a complex request, it is best to call and make an appointment.
